Description

Cartoon depicts a Crimean woman saying how bad the referendum process is in Crimea. She asks Foreign Minister Murray McCully what the National government did with the results of its referendum on asset sales. McCully replies "Ignored it of course!". Commentary from the artist states "Murray McCully is good to preach at the UN about Crimea and the etiquette of referendums. Trouble is, New Zealand had its own Referendum recently, on Asset Sales.... [Mmn, the less said about that the better]." Refers to McCully's statement that New Zealand will not recognise the results of the 16 March referendum in Ukraine on the status of Crimea. He is lobbying to get New Zealand a seat on the United Nations Security Council.
