Looking towards the hills above the Hutt Road, near Petone, showing a narrow waterfall, with a slip alongside it, possibly the slip caused by the earthquake of 1855.
Location of the slip and waterfall suggested by geologist, Gaye Downes, June 2001. However no waterfall was recorded after the earthquake (nor is one present now) and the shape of the slip does not exactly match that shown in C. E. Gold's 'Landslip caused by earthquake January 1855'
