Description

Typescript produced by the Tauranga District Museum possibly from around the 1970s, with wording purportedly from an original 1915 poster.

Lists eleven rules on the conduct of life for female teachers.

Various commentators have questioned the authenticity of the words and tenor of this poster, which is likely to have been produced in humorous vein at a later date. See http://thedreamstress.com/2015/11/rules-of-conduct-for-women-teachers-1915/. See also commentary about this and another 1872 poster at http://www.snopes.com/language/document/1872rule.asp This shows that the text of the 1872 poster at least was probably designed for North American audiences.
