Description

Two vignettes at a ball, Miss Snooks reporting to her female friend in one, and Mr Hard-up to his male friend in the other.

Extended Title - Miss Snooks (who weighs fourteen stone, but thinks herself as light as a zephyr, has been doing a galop with young Hard-up) - Oh, Maria, dear, I have had such a delightful galop! and Mr Hard-up is such a capital dancer. I declare that when he was whirling me round the room I felt just like a little bird. Hard-up (groaning) - Oh, my poor arm, it's nearly off. Tomkins - Well, my dear fellow, if she's too much for you, why dance with her? Hard-up - Hang it, man, don't you know she's property in Queen Street, and any amount of money out of mortgages.
