Includes transcript of journal in both electronic and paper formats. The journal itself outlines a detailed history of the Church Missionary Society's mission at Mangapouri with an emphasis on relations between Maori and the missionaries in the pre-European settlement period, as seen by, Stack, a CMS missionary. Also includes are day-to-day accounts of journals in the Waikato-Thames Valley area, also Pahia, Puriri (Thames) and Tauranga, and the wars in 1836 between Maori tribes in the Waikato-Thames Valley and the Rotorua-Bay of Plenty areas
