Provenance: Collection of Alexander Turnbull. A cardboard mat for the engraving, discarded in the 1970s, bore an inscription ''Dancing at Otaheite' from Mrs Flaxman's collection, given to me in Oct 1910 by Frederick Rathbone, the Wedgwood dealer'
