State visit of Sir Arthur Porritt, Governor General of New Zealand, to the Cook Islands and Samoa.
The Governor and his party travelled on HMNZS Waikato, and the tour began in Rarotonga.
From Manihiki the HMNZS Waikato with Sir Arthur Porritt and his party sailed to Rakahanga and Penrhyn which marked the conclusion of his state visit to the Cook Islands.
