- Description
A German dugout in a bank burns after the retreating Germans fired the ammunition in it. Shows smoke over mounds of earth and pieces of wood and iron. The trees in the background have been stripped by shelling. Photograph taken Puisieux 21 August 1918 by Henry Armytage Sanders.
Other - Original print from this negative is at album PA1-f-094 with the caption: A German dug out in a bank still burning. The dug out was full of ammunition and was the only place they had time to fire in Puisieux.
