Description

Unidentified shop building with a political comment written on its wall, Ferry Road, Christchurch, circa 1913. Photograph taken by Samuel Heath Head.

The first part of the text reads: "Is Hon Massey & Dr Thacker MP playing Bluff. Now William Massey why not give McVilley the twist and say, look hear [sic] McVelley I am the boss in this Jim Burnett did the dirtey [sic] deeds, and could not [Hodge ?] with-sand McVilley took up the cudgel and did not act the man..."
