Florence King and Alice Hunt visit Samoa

Description

Photographs of places and regions of Samoa visited. There are obvious family group photographs which include (probably) Arthur Aris King. Photographs taken on the way out or returning to New Zealand. The album shows something of the life style of European settlers in Samoa and hints at the relationships that this particular family had with the Samoans. There are also four photographs of Mau political demonstrations in Apia.

In 1929 Florence Maud King and her daughter, Alice, spent six months in Samoa. They visited relatives there, toured the country, and witnessed Mau demonstrations in Apia.
