British soldiers at a redoubt in Rangiriri, 1863. Taken by an unidentified photographer.

This photograph was probably taken after Maori had surrendered at Rangiriri on 21 November 1863 after a confrontation with British troops of General (Sir) Duncan Alexander Cameron.
