Description

Police commissioner John Cullen, on horseback, leading prisoners from Maungapohatu, on Wednesday 5 April 1916. Rua is alongside the horse. Tioke follows, then Whatu and Awa. Largely obscured, wearing hats, are Maka and Pukepuke. Constable Neil is at the back carrying the axe. Photograph taken by A N Breckon.
