Shows the distribution in 1842 of New Testaments donated by the British and Foreign Bible Society. A group of Maori and one European are in the foreground, a pa at back left, and Mt Taranaki in the distance. There is a basket of food, possibly kumara, in the right foreground. See description in Working Men's Educational Union "New Zealand and New Zealanders..." London, F. Baron, 1868, pages 29-30.
