This two section cartoon is about the 1973 Festival of Wellington. In the first scene the 'Spirit of Wellington' is pictured as a dancing Cinderella who has just been told the festival has finished. In the next scene she is back, tattered and dirty, in front of the fire place with her two ugly sisters yelling at her about all the more mundane concerns of the city such as rubbish disposal, transport losses, streetworks, airport, motorway and harbour development.
