Description

Francis Joseph (sic) Glacier near the outlet of the Wai-au River; tabular flume, Donolly Creek, Ross height 98 feet length 800 feet - a flume supported on poles above the creek; Aylmer Street, Ross showing the Junction Hotel, Dunedin Hotel, and Dr Bush's consulting rooms in front of the Morning Star mining claim; the viaduct from the creek at Ross height 167 feet; Bond Street, Ross with a church and what may be the Star Bakery in the foreground and along the street from the left, Provincial Hotel, J Manson & Co, Shamrock Hotel, Gay and Green Hall of Commerce, Bank of New Zealand(?), Post Office, Post Office Hotel, a wholesale wine merchants and the Camp Hotel; and the few buildings of Lagoon Town between Ross and Hokitika. Photographer unidentified.
