Lodge, Nevile Sidney, 1918-1989 :Not only winter sport is troubled by rough play - this week the International Cricket Conference is to consider "intimidatory bowling". "Consider the Lillees of the game; they bowl not medium fast neither do they spin!" 28.4.1975

Description

Shows three images. At the top the International Cricket Conference dicusses bowling speeds; in the centre, a policeman confiscates a ball to use as "exhibit A" in a charge of assault. In the lower panel a bowler is served with a traffic ticket for "denting his bodywork with your bumper". The cartoonist suggests instant fines for bowling misdemeanours.

The quotation "Consider the Lillees" is a variation of the Biblical quotation: 'Consider the lilies of the field', and refers to bowler Dennis Lillee.
