Journal kept by Surgeon-Superintendent Frood on board the `Ocean Mail' from Gravesend to Blind Bay from 18 Aug to 7 Nov 1874 in which he describes the weather, basic medical cleaning, temperatures three times daily for three parts of the vessel, the single female quarters, the married couples' quarters and single men's quarters, notes of deaths and sickness, and particular events
Also notes in another hand summarising known facts about the `Ocean mail' from 1873 to 1876 when she was wrecked
