Description

Letter written by Freyberg while serving on the Western Front during World War One. He thanks Daisy for the Christmas cake she sent him which took 5 months to arrive and describes his present location in a French village behind the front lines as well as making general comments about his recent stint at the Front. He also comments on the class snobbery of the English and their attitude towards privates.
