The first folder comprises papers and correspondence relating to Colin Campbell Macdonald, in particular to his service in World War I, to his wife, Olivia Rosalind, to the Macdonald family in general, and to the related Sanford family. Includes results of genealogical research, family trees, reports of the voyage to New Zealand on the NZSC vessel Waimate and other papers.
The second folder contain papers related to John James Macdonald, his dealing in antiques, his service in World War II, including a number of short sketches made on envelopes, and his death. Includes a letter from Eric Lee-Johnson, his brother-in-law.
