Description

Shows a fashionably dressed woman and child in the right foreground beside a new car, with the new nurses' home, of Spanish Mission style, in the background.

This painting won the New Zealand Technical College art prize, where contestants were required to depict a modern building,modern car, and modern fashion.

Seven nurses lost their lives when this building was destroyed in 1931.
