Description: Item 49. Hadfield's diary, 30 Sep-21 Dec 1839 and 9-11 1846. The diaries gives a day-to-day account of when Hadfield left the Bay of Islands mission, travelled to Port Nicholson, and then began his missionary work in the Waikanae, Otaki, Kapiti areas (includes typed transcripts). Item 50. Hadfield's sermons, ca 1888-ca 1891. Item 51. Letters to Hadfield from Catherine Hadfield (Williams), 25 Jun 1851-1 Dec 1851, and 5 Jul 1858-25 Jul 1859. The 1851 letters are written in the months prior to her marriage to Hadfield. They contain an account of life at Otaki and at Wellington, and the activities of her brother Samuel Williams. The 1858 letters relate to the voyage to and from England and the Hadfield's experiences there when Hadfield acted as chaplain to Bishop Abraham. Item 53. Addresses etc from the clergy and laity of the Wellington Diocese to the Right Rev Octavius Hadfield, 1888-1905. Items 55-57. Manuscript fragments. Item 58.
