Description

Scenes taken in the Sangro River region, Italy, on the 4th of December 1943, by Len W Harrington Hutchings, a New Zealand unit photographer during World War II. Includes:

92 - Signal Office

93 - Corporal Trebilco testing signal lines

94 - The instrument mechanic's truck, including: from left to right: W R Small (behind, in the dark), Corporal W McClelland (with headphones on), and T G Brown.

95 - (From left to right?) Captain Brash, Captain J Wilton, and WOI J H Pettigrew watching bombing around Castelfrentano.

96 - ELS office, the Post Office of the Division.

97 - Sangro River with German `S' mines lifted out of the river bank and the road. The pontoon bridge in the centre was built by New Zealand sappers.

98 - Outside the Signal Office: Sergeant Bert Bezar (left?), and Ken Rigby.

99 - Jocky Francis, signalman at the forward telephone centre.
