A large collection of legal documents, including indentures, land transfers, warrants, wills, promissory notes, leases, inventories and othe records relating to the Ward family in the county of Kent. The inventory by Mrs Kent-Johnston gives a detailed description of the documents, as well as many translations and transcriptions.

Provenance: Sent out to the Ward family in New Zealand ca 1880 by relatives in England. Passed on to Raymond Thomas Ward, the grand-son of the original recipient, in 1962, by which time various items had been removed from the collection.
