Description

A Gothic church spire and church building surrounded by other buildings and trees, viewed across fenced and treed farmland, with two cows, a donkey and two other animals. Probably a view from near the artist's family home in Hampstead Heath.

This group of drawings (A-001-056/059) was prepared by the artist, before his departure from England in September 1839, to bring with him to New Zealand to remind him of his home.
