The typescript war diaries of J N Atkinson cover the period 1 April 1940 to 14 April 1945; also included is an annotated typescript newsletter for the Short Snorters Club, 1944. The correspondence between Will Ewart and May Wilson, 1906-1908, the donor's grandparents, covers the period when she is working for Government Life Insurance in Wellington. There is considerable inward correspondence to May (also known as Mamie) from various family members and friends (1895-1902) and certificates and official letters to her, (1895-1896). Included is an annotated published item, The Melvilles of Mahurangi (nd).
