View looking west from Kilbirnie toward Rongotai, showing bus sheds at Kilbirnie in the left foreground. The large undeveloped area in the middle of the photograph, partly occupied by playing fields, was to become the site of the Centennial Exhibition buildings and later the Rongotai Airport. Taken by an unidentified photographer in 1938.
Note on back of file print reads: Bus shed at Kilbirnie on the left. Site of the Centennial Exhibition and Rongotai airport can be clearly seen.
