Description

`Aotearoa haeremai' was composed by Nikitin and Wassiliew with words by de Bortnowski while en route to New Zealand on the `Hellenic Prince' which left Bremerhaven on 5 Sep 1950 and arrived in Wellington 17 Oct 1950. The song, which was popular aboard the ship, was written by the three Russians as a salute to their new homeland. Enclosed are newsclippings regarding this episode, a copy of the `Ship news' Kiwi souvenir edition, and two testimonials regarding W Wassiliew.
