Steve Maharey, Minister for Social Services and Employment, sitting at a desk beside Christine Rankin, Chief Executive Officer for Work and Income NZ, announces that after discussion with her Ms Rankin will not be fired. Rankin's head is anchored to the desk by two concrete blocks labelled 'WI' and 'NZ', which are linked to her ears by chains. Efforts had been made to hold Rankin responsible for exorbitant and irresponsible spending on staff training. It is implied that while she will not be fired, she will be weighted down in future by her performane as CEO of WINZ.
