Aerial view of the Wellington Public Hospital complex at Newtown. Photographed by an Evening Post staff photographer in May 1969.
This photograph was taken specifically to show the site being cleared for a new eleven storied clinical services block which was completed in 1974. Three of the original hospital's wards opened in 1881 were cleared to provide the site for the new building.
