Description: At Anzac Cove, Gallipoli, Turkey, 1915, photographed by L E Tatton. The rock known as `The Spinx' is visible. Inscriptions: Verso - The high rock in the background was called the Sphinx. It was a snipers nest. It covered the beach and Pluggees Plateau. A large toll of the troops was taken from there. It was in enemy territory. A successful assault was accomplished by the ANZACs, and the sniper was killed. Quantity: 1 b&w original photographic print(s) postcard.
