The official unveiling of the plaque at Auckland Harbour Bridge. Shows the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon S G Holland unveiling the memorial plaque, with Sir John Allum standing by. A group of ceremony attendants looks on. Photograph taken in January 1956, by Mr Edward Percival Christensen for the National Publicity Studios.
The plaque reads: `This tablet was unveilied by / the Right Honourable S G Holland C H M P / the Prime Minister of New Zealand / on the twenty-seventh day of January 1956 / Auckland Harbour Bridge Authority / Sir John Allum C & I ...' etc
