Description

Postcards, both coloured and black & white of Egypt; and views of everyday life in Egypt, Lebanon, Syria and Transjordania, photographed by Lionel Alfred Colville while stationed in the Middle East during World War II. There is a group portrait of students at No. 19 Aircraft Recognition Instructors' Course, held at Amman, Transjordania in March 1943; one image of members of the Egyptian Camel Corps, and images of the Emir of Transjordania. There is also one image of German parachutists coming down over Crete.
