Portrait of Lieutenant Frederic Simon Armfelt (fl 1863-1866), a member of the Forty Third Regiment (Monmouthshire Light Infantry) of the British Army which served in New Zealand from 1863 to 1866. Photographed by an unknown photographer some time in the 1860s.
Frederic Simon Armfelt joined the Forty Third Regiment on the 17th of November 1863 and was promoted Lieutenant on the 18th of April 1865. (info Harts Army List, 1865, July-October, p 204).
