Text panel reports that they had performed before His Majesty King Edward VIII, Queen Mary, and His Late Majesty King George V at the London Hippodrome. Description: PM Sid Holland and leader of the Labour opposition Walter Nash dressed in togs prepare to take to the water which represents the 'election'. Sid Holland has an outboard motor attached to his back to which is tied a label reading 'waterfront policy'; he confidently starts the motor preparing to launch into the snap election of 1951. Walter Nash has a brick labelled 'waterfront politics' tied around his neck and he scratches his head indecisively. The 1951 waterfront confrontation which was essentially crushed by the government and over which Labour was criticised for fence-sitting and of Communist sympathies during the ellection campaign resulted in an increased majority to 20 seats for National.
