Description: On a beach covered in black oil and dying and dead oil-covered fish and birds, an oil-covered penguin sees lying nearby, a newspaper with a headline that reads 'Kiwis wear too much black says columnist.' The penguin says 'You can say that again!' Context: Dominion Post columnist Karl du Fresne laments the absence of colours in New Zealanders' dress sense and this has drawn a big response. The cartoon applies the comment to the environmental disaster that has followed the grounding of the container ship 'Rena' on the Astrolabe Reef off the coast of Tauranga.
