Helen Clark protects Turiana Turia from opposition accussations of political interference. President Bush attempts to calm and reassure the American people in the face of extreme threats from Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda network. John Howard wins another term as Australian Prime Minister on the backs of refugee boat people. Jim Anderton and Bill English look for ways to provide gaurded support for New Zealand SAS involvement in Afghanistan. Shows lions in a zoo with a sign 'Big Cat poisoning Times...' Jim Anderton pretends to fire a gatling gun every time the Alliance Party President, Matt McCarten appears on television. Helen Clark arrives home to find the house demolished. Refers to Alliance Party infighting. Shows Jim Anderton and Matt McCarten facing off over the breakfast table. A Black Caps cricket player thanks an African rain-man for helping the team by creating rain which washed out the second test. Jim Anderton reassures everyone that the crisis within the Alliance Party is now over and he and Matt McCarten are now pulling in the same direction. The Alliance boat is now however sinking. New Zealanders make love twice a week on average. A woman comments that it is decidedly average. Afghanistan Alliance soldiers run over Taliban prisoners in an armoured tank. Maori artifacts collected by Anders Hansen's family when he was lighthouse keeper at Little Papanui Inlet from 1916 to 1919. In 2005 the Maori artifacts were sold to the Otago Museum where they now form the Anders/Tiller Collection. Description: Photographs chiefly relating to artist Gordon Crook, particularly images of him, his home, studio, flowers in his garden, and tapestry work, taken from circa 1990 to circa 2003. (Note however that four art works have creation dates of 1955, 1966/67, about 1979 and 1992). Some have notes written by Crook on the backs. Eight relate particularly to the Victorian Tapestry Workshop in Melbourne, Australia. Some photographs taken by Crook, other photographers unidentified. Comprises: Eight relating to Derum and the Victorian Tapestry Workshops (VTW) in Melbourne, Australia, taken 1993 and circa 1993. Images show a tapestry of a montage with Derum, weaver Cheryl Thornton, and Joy Smith. Further images show (students?) working at the VTW including [Grazyua Bleya ?] weaving 'Maritimes'. Six images of Crook and others at the City Art Gallery in Wellington, in Dec 1993, during the retrospective exhibition of Crook's works, curated by Derum. Images include Edith Ryan, 'Eddie', and Derum. 23 are taken of and around Crook's house at 119 Aro Street, Wellington, including his studio which was under renovation. Also many of flowers inside and in his garden. Two probably taken inside the Begonia House, Botanical Gardens, Wellington. Five showing him and/or others. Only identified person is Edith Ryan at the Arts Council office. Six comprising buildings, sculpture, the pine tree at One Tree Hill, Auckland. 15 of art works (all? by Crook), particularly tapestries, dated 1955, 1966/67, about 1979 and 1992.
