Description: Shows the town's main street, with horse hitched outside hotel, a wagon going away along the street, Staite Bros Molyneux Store, an American flag hanging limp on a flagpole in the distance. There is a blacksmith's forge at right, a wagon resting on the road at left. Accompanied by an information text sheet, by Marian Minson. Inscriptions: Recto - beneath image - [Title]; Recto - bottom left - This facsimile reproduction of an original watercolour in the Fletcher Challenge Collection, Auckland, was issued by the Alexander Turnbull Library Endowment Trust in association with Fletcher Challenge Ltd, 1987.; Recto - bottom right - Edition limited to 3000 copies. Dunstan Hotel built 1863. Molyneux is the old name for the Clutha River. Dated in the 1860s because trees were flourishing by 1970. Quantity: 1 colour photo-mechanical print(s).
