Description: "Tomahawk" Xmas shows a man in a one-piece bathing costume ttentatively wading in ankle-deep water. This picture may be by Alan F Reid (see similar signature on page 029) Major Stafford shows two full length portrait of soliders in brimmed hats. Description: Watercolour at top left shows a silhouette of a sailing ship at evening or dawn. The ink and watercolour drawing by Alan Reid at top right shows a roughly clad caveman standing outside the doorway of a stone building and watching the approach of his son through a telescope. At lwer right is a half-length portrait a a smiling soldier smoking a cigarette. His right arm is in a plaster and a sling and he wears a Red cross label. Description: The top pencil sketch shows a soldier on his bed covered in a mosquito net, writing a letter. There is a tortoise on the floor beside him. At the right of this sketch is the head of a man in a turban, and a "scene in the Garden of Eden" showing a very small patch of shade at the base of a palm tree (similar to a sketch at E-288-q-008). The pencil sketch at left centre shows a profile portrait of a soldier in a pith helmet on a galloping horse. The pencil drawing at centre right shows an officer in a pith helmet seated on a deck chair beside a river with a fishing rod. There is a shelter on ploes above him and a servant with a fly whisk stands behind him, keeping flies away. The ticket at the bottom of the page is a Suez Canal Zone pass for Sapper McFarlane for permission to be absent from his quarters from 3pm to 9.30 pm on 25 September 1917, for the purpose of proceeding to Ismailia Station Moascar.
