Comprises journals, letters and other papers of Ian Donnelly.
Correspondents include Leo Bensemann, Denis Glover, Eillen Duggan, R A K Mason, Jessie MacKay, Alan Mulgan; Charles Morgan, Sir Richard Livingstone, W W Jacobs and Ralph Hodgson. Also includes letters to Donnelly's brother Arthur from Sir Howard Kippenberger, relating to the Greece campaign in World War II. Also inclludes articles, reviews, cuttings, research notebooks and volumes of poetry, all relating to Donnelly's literary interests.
The journals recount Donnelly's visit to Britain and Europe in 1934-1935, (the source material for his book 'Joyous Pilgrimage'), and visit to America in 1953 under the authority of the United States Information and Educational Exchange Act.
Some of the documents have had notes or annotations added by the donor, Donnelly's daughter, Ann Elder. Her own research papers (MS-Group-1917) are held seperately and include her own extesnive biographical research material about her father.
