This photograph may have been taken at the site of the New Zealand military hospital at Walton on Thames, London. The associated photographs include views of Weybridge, a nearby village, and the Oatlands Park Hotel which from 1916 to 1918 was used as a hospital for New Zealand soldiers. The brickie may be working in trenches (shown in an associated photograph) dug to lay sewerage pipes.
