Barrow, Terry, 1923-2001

Anthropologist. Curator and ethnologist at the Dominion Museum from 1948-1965, before becoming curator of the Pacific collection at the Bernice P Bishop Museum in Honolulu. Later a consultant to museums, writer, editor and appraiser of artifacts. In 1956 he began studying for a doctorate at the Univerity of Cambridge, and while there he undertook work for NZ, by collating information about New Zealand artifacts held throughout Europe. Wrote book "Traditional and modern music of the Maori". See Evening Post Obituaries (Thursday, October 11, 2001)
