Description: View from the Town Belt in the Mornington area looking down over the city, with South Dunedin to the right. Otago Boys' High is the large Victorian Gothic building to the left in the foreground and Queens Drive curves around the bush-clad hill to its left. In the distance on the left is Logan Lake, now reclaimed as Logan Park. The dominant church spire in the centre belongs to First Church. Houses, stores and industrial buildings are shown, along with shipping activity in the port. In the centre and right foreground are a park and a road, along which a couple is walking. Description: view from Tinakori Hill looking over Thorndon, the inner harbour, Te Aro and Mount Victoria. The foreground shows several large houses, including the Queen Margaret College building in Hobson Street, and Thomas Turnbull's large house in Grant Road, later the Italian Embassy. The swing bridge in Hobson Street is also shown part-way along Hobson Street on the left. Katherine Mansfield's birthplace is also in the view, two houses to the left of the swing bridge. Molesworth Street is shown running in a straight line towards the Government Buildings on the right. There are several ships in the harbour and tied up at the wharves. Copy of an original in one of the sketchbooks of Charles Edward Hammond, in the State Library of Victoria. Either a watercolour or an annotated copy of a chromolithograph. The Library holds a copy of the chromolithograph, based on a photograph and catalogued as artist unknown. Description: Certificates are both of the same design but written out to two different names, Mr J Kingston and Mrs Kingston. They show a scene of a bay with a European sailing ship and a native canoe, with palms and banana palms at the far left. A cross bears the inscription "Thy kingdom come", and an inset shows a stylised bird flying with a fish in its mouth. At the top right is an inset showing the Southern Cross constellation, and the lower right inset shows a panel of Pacific decorative motifs. Description: View from the lower end of The Terrace, looking down at Te Aro Flat and across towards Mount Victoria, Oriental Bay and the Miramar Peninsula. Part of the Thorndon end of the city can be seen on the left. Courtenay Place runs away from the view in the centre of the scene, continuing as Marjoribanks Street as it rises up Mount Victoria. The gasometers on both sides of Courtenay Place show clearly. On the far right in the distance is Wellington College.
