Invercargill photographer. Born in Scotland, 12 October 1854, he arrived in Dunedin in 1862 aboard the ship Seville. He was a pupil of John Gully, and partner in the firm Hart, Campbell & Co in Invercargill, 1879-1885. He practised in Queenstown ca 1889, and returned to set up a studio in Tay Street, Invercargill, which he operated 1893-1925. He was also an amateur artist. He died in Eastbourne, Wellington, 1943.
