Description: These slides are entitled "Rozel. Illustrations for journal". They include views of eucalyptus trees, lemon and grapfruit trees, their dog "Wee Dug", their 1951 Austin A40 car, a clematis ("Travellers' Joy") and the house. One picture taken in Cambridge shows an old red pillar box; smoke over a swamp fire in the distance; the Rukuhia Swamp; clouds over Pirongia; Waikato landscape and clouds; a young boy with a prize-winning calf; Horneman's farm at Ohaupo; a group identified only by Christian name ( Percy, Lindley, Joyce and Mr Spencer at Rozel), Gubbins oaks at Rozel, and oak blossom. Description: Views of the gardens and trees at Rozel, the forest farm owned by Mac (Frederick Brayshaw McWhannell) and Rhoda McWhannell. They include the entrance, the Rozel nursery, eucalyptus trees, Judas trees in bloom, a royal oak and oak blossom, and pinus radiata bloom. One image shows Fred, Merta and Robert (Frederick McWhannell, Merta and Robert Alford); and another shows three men identified only by their Christian names (Ross, Jock and Cliff). The last ten slides are entitled "Rozel. Illustrations for journal". They include views of the house, poplars, "Wee Dug" their dog, a croquet match played on Anzac Day 1961, sweet oranges, lemons and lemon blossom, Japanese maples, George (?) and a Judas tree. Description: A line of naval officers being carried from a rowboat to the shore, three climbing the rocks beyond, with digging equipment. A number are falling in the water and all have humorous captions applied to them, including 'ye dog Robert'. The party included officers from H. M. S. Pandora T. Morton Jones, Oke, Stanley, Cuming, Blackney, Farmer, Leck, Hooper, and Ellis as well as Gold Commissioner Charles Heaphy. 'Ye Purser' (aboard the Pandora) was Mr Simmons. 'Ye first Lieutenant' was Theodore Morton Jones; 'Mr Stanley' was William Stanley, 'Ye medical officer' was the ship's surgeon, John Joliffe, 'Mr Blackney' was William Blackney, who later changed his name to Blakeney; 'Master Ellis' was one of the midshipmen, 'Master Hopper' was Thomas Hooper Kerr.
