Description: View of the interior of St Mary's Church, New Plymouth looking east towards the altar and chancel from the gallery. Photograph taken by N.P.Photo Co. The stained glass windows in the apse commemorate Sir Harry Atkinson (left) who died in 1892, and the Revd H H Brown who died Sep 1893. The `stars' suggest the decorations were for Christmas. In 1893 the east wall was extended to form an apse and in 1898 the marble reredos was introduced behind the altar.
