Description: Shows the giant kauri tree Tane Mahuta in the centre, in a bush setting. Other Titles - Tane Mahuta Inscriptions: Backing board recto - centre - This is the Maori name given to this tree which is almost the largest in the Waipoua State Forest. It is the one tourists are taken to see and a notice at the foot of it says: This tree is 43 feet in girth + 42 feet to the first branch.
