Telecom (N.Z.), Telecom New Zealand

On 1 April 1987 the New Zealand Post Office was restructured. The banking, postal and telecommunications functions of the Post Office were divided into Post Office Bank Ltd, New Zealand Post, and Telecom Corporation of New Zealand. In 2008 the Corporation was separated into Telecom and Chorus, the network infrastructure. In 2011 the demerger was complete, and on 8 August 2014 Telecom changed its name to Spark New Zealand.
