Description: Shows a landscape of Matauri Bay where the sabotaged boat "Rainbow Warrior" is now resting. In the foreground are four horsemen (a repeated motif of two horsemen) representing Death with a sword and radiation sign, and Justice with a halo, bow & arrow and heart-sign on the rump of the horse. These horsemen are taken from motifs in a Spanish illuminated manuscript. Abolition 2000 was an organisation of scientists world-wide, wanting nuclear weapons banned by the turn of the millennium. Dawn 2000 refers to New Zealand as being the first country to see the new dawn of the millennium. This poster was commissioned by Dr Ian Prior of Wellington, to be available at a 1996 conference of scientists wanting nuclear weapons banned by 2000. The poster was not printed by Stanley Palmer himself, but by a printing firm. Two copies held Quantity: 1 colour photo-mechanical print(s).
