By: Palmer, Stanley, 1936-
Reference: Eph-E-INTERNATIONAL-2005-01
Description: Shows an illustration of three frogs wearing snorkels, superimposed upon the three stripes of the French tricolor flag. A reprint of a poster first issued in 1985, in protest at the French involvement in the bombing of the 'Rainbow Warrior'. French divers or 'frogmen' were accused of planting the bomb. The original poster was produced very quickly, almost before news broke that the French were involved in the bombing (artist personal communication to donor, 2006). This reprint was produced for Greenpeace, probably for the twentieth anniversary of the bombing. As the artist had not kept the original drawing, the new screen print was made by copying the image on the original poster. As a result there are minor differences. The screen printers were the same as for the original poster. Quantity: 1 colour art print(s). Physical Description: Screenprint, 640 x 895 mm. Provenance: Donated by Diane Woods, Wellington, in 2006.
