Also included are scenic views; scenes of mustering and shearing on the farm; Ernie and others in First World War uniforms; a burned down house; soldiers at Trentham camp eating a meal outside their tent (as a postcard signed by George McDermott to his brother and sister Alice and Bill); Lorraine Barnes taking part in a recording of the radio show The Quiz Kids as a member of the Hutt Valley team (The Quiz Kids was introduced by Selwyn Toogood in the 1950s); results of a national election being monitored on a wall chart ca 1930s; Ernie Barnes as captain of the Wellington Telephone Exchange Cricket Club; and two of officers and soldiers from the Second World War. Description: Panoramic view of the Rotorua Co-operative Dairy Company. One building shows the date 1910 and another the date 1923. A railway line is on the left of the buildings, linking with a main line further left. There are cars and other vehicles outside the factory including an "Indian" motorbike. The are houses and a shop(?) on a rise to the right of the factory, and fields with lines of washing. Vehicle number plates include MM1046 and IA-1. Water tanks on the factory on the left. Description: Includes short autobiography by Munro and scrapbooks and cuttings relating to his speed records and to the motion picture, `The World's fastest Indian' Source of title - Supplied by Library Arrangement: Although most of the papers were created by Munro there are some later photographs and other material about him, collected after his death and added to the papers. Munro, from Invercargill, was a renowned New Zealand motorcycle racer, best known for his world speed record for under 1000cc bikes, set at Bournville, USA on 26 August 1967. As at April 2013 the record still stands. He was 68 at the time, and achieved the record with his modified 1920 Indian motorcycle.
